“The Spirit Sings” at Waters of Highland Park

Our Pages of Music educational program, “The Spirit Sings,” traces the history and legacy of African-American music from its African roots, through slave times, Ragtime, Blues, and Jazz to transcendent performers like Marian Anderson.

Free and open to the public of all ages!

This is the fourth of a 7-part monthly series of music education programs we offer at Waters of Highland Park.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
